Education
Since Jan began her own practice in 1984, she has maintained a commitment to helping schools and districts maximize their opportunities and their effectiveness.
Jan has worked with over 100 school systems and collaboratives and a broad range of educational organizations that support schools including Superintendent and School Committee Associations, State Departments of Education, and Regional Laboratories. Jan has also worked at every level of the school system.
Her work includes:
- district-wide strategic planning;
- School Committee consultation and training;
- Parent Advisory Committee roles and responsibilities;
- school task forces;
- team building with administrative teams;
- assessments and reorganizations;
- consultation with Central Office and Special Education; and
- professional development for teachers.

We bring a “whole systems” approach to our work. Successful school districts are those whose vision, values, and practices are integrated and aligned with the teaching and learning process.
We apply an action research approach, which means taking action based on real information readily available in your school district. We use inclusive processes to help our clients assess their needs, build on strengths, and address areas of opportunity, with the intent of leaving the district and its leaders more skilled and better able to replicate its successes, and to diagnose and deal with its challenges.
